Obama’s Legacy: Politics Of Anger, Fights, Division, Obama Blames Electoral Losses On Lack Of Communication?

Fist fights at campaign rallies. A major presidential candidate called a bigot and bully by members of his own party. Gridlock in Washington. And Americans downright pessimistic.
This is America’s politics today, seven years after Barack Obama was elected president with a promise to change it all.
The political change he predicted never appeared. Instead, partisanship and dysfunction have grown worse. His legacy on policies is more mixed. He did accomplish things, notably the Affordable Care Act. But his legacy on politics is another story.
Republicans and Democrats refuse to compromise, sometimes even talk. Congress has become more unproductive with lawmakers failing to pass budgets or even consider presidential appointments. And most Americans have little to no confidence in the federal government to tackle the problems facing the nation in 2016, according to a poll released in January.
Just Thursday, about 20 people were arrested after hundreds of protesters blocked an intersection and vandalized a police car outside a rally for Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump at the Orange County Fairgrounds in California. Several fights broke out.
“It’s fair to say that President Obama entered office as chief executive of a divided country, and he’s done nothing noticeable to heal those divisions in his seven years,” said William Galston, a former adviser to President Bill Clinton and now a senior fellow at the center-left Brookings Institution.
Barring an unexpected change in the country, the political legacy of the 44th president will be that he left office with the atmosphere in the United States in worse shape than when he was elected.
That failure is all the more disappointing, Democrats and Republicans say, because he raised expectations so high.
“He clearly thought – and he was entirely wrong – that he could transform politics in America,” said George Edwards, a presidential scholar at Texas A&M University. “It was naive to think he could bridge this divide.”
Before he was even sworn into office, Obama proclaimed that his successful election itself had altered American politics. “Change has come to America,” he said the day he was elected president.
Now entering his final months in office, Obama acknowledges that he was not able to “fix our politics.”
“It’s one of the few regrets of my presidency  –  that the rancor and suspicion between the parties has gotten worse instead of better,” Obama said in his final State of the Unionaddress in January. “There’s no doubt a president with the gifts of Lincoln or Roosevelt might have better bridged the divide, and I guarantee I’ll keep trying to be better so long as I hold this office."
There’s plenty of reasons for the dysfunction: millions of dollars of unaccountable money in politics; districts that ensure most lawmakers don’t face competition; parties that have become more extreme; highly partisan media outlets and an atmosphere that no longer stops campaigning for governing.
In February, Obama devoted an entire speech to partisan politics, pushing for Americans to reduce money in politics, change how congressional districts are drawn and make voting easier.
But Obama, too, shares in the blame.

New York Times he attributes Democratic losses in the House and Senate during his administration to a lact of communication.

"I mean, the truth of the matter is that if we had been able to more effectively communicate all the steps we had taken to the swing voter ... then we might have maintained a majority in the House or the Senate."

At-Large, Other Obama Illegal Alien Killer Was an ‘Unaccompanied Minor’ HHS Released to Another Illegal

The illegal immigrant now charged with killing 21-year-old Sarah Root while street-racing drunk in Omaha entered the U.S. as an “unaccompanied minor.” The Obama administration then placed him in the custody of his brother, another illegal immigrant.

Now the U.S. Senate delegations from Nebraska and Iowa want to know the details of alleged killer Edwin Mejia’s placement in the U.S. with his illegal immigrant brother Santos Jesus Romero-Mejia.
“We are deeply concerned that an unaccompanied alien minor, Edwin (a.k.a. ‘Eswin’) Mejia, was released by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to a sponsor who was reportedly in the United States illegally,”  Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA),

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA)
57%
,
Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE)
57%
and Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) wrote in a letter dated Tuesday to Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell. According to the letter, Mejia was apprehended by Border Patrol after entering the country illegally in May 2013 and days later HHS placed him at the David and Margaret Youth and Family Services facility in Los Angeles, California. About a month later HHS released Mejia to his brother Romero-Mejia, at the time living in Madison, Tennessee.
“According to ICE, the ORR reunification packet includes information stating that “Edwin Mejia claims that his brother is ‘illegal,’” the letter reads.
Mejia, now 20-years old, is currently on Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Most Wanted List. He absconded after posting bail and ICE declined to detain him, saying was not a priority for detention under the the Obama administration’s immigration enforcement policies.
“Because Mejia was an unaccompanied minor at the time he crossed the border, HHS was in charge of his care and placement while in the United States,” the senators’ letter reads. “Given the findings by the Government Accountability Office that your Department does not adequately monitor its grantees and has failed to routinely conduct background checks, including fingerprinting all sponsors or completing child abuse and neglect checks on relative sponsors, we would like to know what information your Department had on Mejia’s sponsor before releasing Mejia into his custody.
“Moreover, we would like to know whether HHS had any further contact with Mejia once he was placed with his sponsor,” they added.
A recent Associated Press investigation found that from February 2014 to September 2015, HHS placed 80 percent of the the unaccompanied minors in its care to other illegal immigrants.
Read the letter:
Dear Secretary Burwell:
We are deeply concerned that an unaccompanied alien minor, Edwin (a.k.a. “Eswin”) Mejia, was released by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to a sponsor who was reportedly in the United States illegally.  We would appreciate a better understanding of what happened in light of the fact that Mejia, now almost 20 years old, has since been charged with a crime resulting in the death of a U.S. citizen, absconded from authorities, and remains a fugitive at-large.
According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Mejia entered the country illegally on May 14, 2013, near Nogales, Arizona.  At that time, Customs and Border Protection arrested Mejia and served him a Notice to Appear.  On May 17, 2013, Mejia was placed by HHS, via the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), at the David and Margaret Youth and Family Services facility in Los Angeles, California.  On June 28, 2013, Mejia was released into the custody of his brother, Santos Jesus Romero-Mejia, who resided in Madison, Tennessee.  According to ICE, the ORR reunification packet includes information stating that “Edwin Mejia claims that his brother is ‘illegal.’”
Edwin Mejia was arrested on January 31, 2016, in Omaha, Nebraska, and charged with drag racing, driving under the influence, and killing 21-year old Sarah Root in a car accident. Mejia’s blood alcohol limit at the time of the accident was more than three times the legal limit.  Sarah Root had graduated that evening from Bellevue University with perfect grades and was on her way home.
Mejia, who had twice failed to appear in court on state charges, was released on bond and absconded.  His whereabouts are still unknown.
Because Mejia was an unaccompanied minor at the time he crossed the border, HHS was in charge of his care and placement while in the United States.  Given the findings by the Government Accountability Office that your Department does not adequately monitor its grantees and has failed to routinely conduct background checks, including fingerprinting all sponsors or completing child abuse and neglect checks on relative sponsors[1], we would like to know what information your Department had on Mejia’s sponsor before releasing Mejia into his custody.  Moreover, we would like to know whether HHS had any further contact with Mejia once he was placed with his sponsor. Therefore, we ask that your Department respond to the following questions related to this case no later than May 11:
 1.     Why was Edwin Mejia placed at the David and Margaret Youth and Family Services facility in Los Angeles?
2.     How many individuals applied to be a sponsor for Edwin Mejia?  Please provide details and any document related to each applicant, including information such as name, relationship, address, and a copy of the application submitted.
3.     What specific background or biometric checks were done on the sponsor applicants before Edwin Mejia was transferred to the custody of his brother, Santos Jesus Romero-Mejia?
4.     Who performed the background check for Mejia’s sponsor – HHS or a contractor? If a contractor, please provide the name.
5.     Was Mejia released under any kind of an agreement, probation, or order of supervision?
6.     How was Edwin Mejia physically transferred from California to the custody of his brother who supposedly resided in Tennessee?
7.     What is the Department’s current policy on fingerprinting the sponsors of unaccompanied minors?  If parents and other immediate relatives are not required to undergo biometric checks, please explain why.
8.     After Mejia’s placement, did HHS have any further contact with him or his sponsor?
In addition to answering these questions, please provide any document related to Edwin Mejia, including all notes, documents, applications and correspondence included therein.
We appreciate your cooperation and await your response.
Sincerely,

Senator Chuck Grassley                                 Senator Joni Ernst
Senator Deb Fischer                                       Senator Ben Sasse

‘You Can’t Just Keep on Yelling’: Obama Criticizes ‘Black Lives Matter’ Activists During London Town Hall Discussion, You Think Obama Going To Trown B.L.M Under The Bus? I don't think So, LIar Obama

Barack Obama called out “Black Lives Matter” activists and urged them to be more willing to sit down and discuss their concerns Saturday during a town hall discussion in London.
Obama, who had been speaking at the Royal Horticultural Halls in central London, addressed racial issues and the demands of the BLM activists while criticizing the movement for alienating others with the way in which it presents its concerns, according to CNN.

You can’t just keep on yelling at them and you can’t refuse to meet because that might compromise the purity of your position,” Obama said as he referred to the BLM’s reaction to racially-motivated police violence, according to CNN.

Obama also attempted to draw the activists’ attention to the importance engaging in civil discourse and expressing a willingness to hear and respect other viewpoints besides their own.
“The value of social movements and activism is to get you at the table, get you in the room and then start trying to figure out how is this problem going to be solved,” Obama continued, according to NBC News. “You then have a responsibility to prepare an agenda that is achievable —that can institutionalize the changes you seek and to engage the other side.”

Obama, You Should Have Stayed Home. Your Saudi Trip Signals Weakness

Obama, You Should Have Stayed Home. Your Saudi Trip Signals Weakness

Obama, You Should Have Stayed Home. Your Saudi Trip Signals Weakness

Obama faces contentious meetings with European and Gulf state leaders during his trip this week to Europe and Saudi Arabia. Why? Because of his continuing refusal to adopt a serious strategy to defeat ISIS, confront Iran’s increasingly belligerent behavior, and his inexplicable comments published in an April 2016 Atlantic article that blamed Europe and Gulf states for his administration’s growing list of foreign policy failures.
The Atlantic article will lead to some awkward questions for Mr. Obama from the leaders of America’s closest allies.
For example, the president will undoubtably be asked by European and Gulf state leaders to explain how, after his administration ignored the growing crisis in Libya for the past four years and his 2011 “leading from behind” strategy during the Libyan civil war, he can criticize European and Gulf states of being “free riders” and not having “skin in the game” in the Libyan situation.
I imagine British Prime Minister Cameron will say to the president, “But Mr. Obama, France and the United Kingdom took the lead in fighting that war because you refused to.”
...
President Obama’s trip will not further damage America’s relations with European and Gulf states because they know he is a lame duck and expect the next president will be a stronger leader who will adopt a tougher and more sensible foreign policy, especially if a Republican wins the White House this fall.
The problem with this trip is that it will telegraph American weakness and divisions between the U.S. and its allies to our enemies who may try to exploit this weakness before the end of the Obama presidency.  Any perception of American weakness endangers global security.
Mr. President, you should have stayed home.

Obama Has Been So Cavalier About His Constitutional Duty To Faithfully Execute The Laws He Dislikes? He Say He Not A King?

Obama Has Been So Cavalier About His Constitutional Duty To Faithfully Execute The Laws He Dislikes? He Say He Not A King?

One reason American politics is so polarized is that President Obama has been so cavalier about his constitutional duty to faithfully execute the laws he dislikes. On Monday the Supreme Court will hear a challenge to one of his worst abuses, his 2014 order that rewrites U.S. immigration law.
In United States v. Texas, 26 states sued to block Mr. Obama’s executive diktat that awards legal status, work permits and other government benefits to some 4.3 million illegal immigrants, with no consent from Congress. A federal judge...

US U.S. Says Russian Planes Buzzed Navy Ship Multiple Times in Baltic Sea

US U.S. Says Russian Planes Buzzed Navy Ship Multiple Times in Baltic Sea

Russian attack planes buzzed a U.S. Navy destroyer in the Baltic Sea multiple times on Monday and Tuesday, at one point coming so close — an estimated 30 feet — that they created wakes in the water around the ship, a U.S. official said Wednesday.
The official, who was not authorized to discuss details and so spoke on condition of anonymity, said the Russian Su-24 planes appeared unarmed but on Tuesday flew what the commander of the USS Donald Cook deemed to be a simulated attack profile. The Cook’s commander judged the actions unsafe and unprofessional, the official said, but the ship took no action.
