Texas Aborts 21-Week or Older Unborn Babies at Rate of More Than One Per Day

(CNSNews.com) - In Texas--where the state house is now considering legislation to prohibit abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy--abortionists terminate the lives of unborn babies who have reached at least the 21st week of gestation at a rate of more than one per day.
Each year, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention publishes an "Abortion Surveillance" report, providing statistics on the abortions performed in 46 states, plus the District of Columbia and New York City. (California, Delaware, Maryland and New Hampshire do not provide the CDC with their abortion statistics.)
The latest "Abortion Surveillance" report was published in November 2012 and covers the abortions performed in 2009.
In Texas in 2009, according to the report, abortionists terminated a total of 74,962 unborn babies.
499 of those unborn babies were aborted at the 18th, 19th or 20th week of gestation, according to the CDC.
465 were aborted at the 21st week of gestation or later.
Given that there are 365 days in a year, Texas aborted unborn babies who had reached at least the 21st week of gestation at a rate of 1.27 per day.
Statistically, aborting unborn babies who have reached at least the 21st week of gestation is an everyday occurrence in 21st century Texas.
