Administration shuts down Amber Alert website ...Michelle's 'Let's Move' site unaffected

f we can save just one child...."
UPDATE: About 10 minutes ago - somehwere around 10:45 AM - the Amber Alert site was quietly switched back on.  So someone at the Obama admin must have decided that your punishment is over, since it wasn't worth all the bad PR.

Thanks to Harry Reid's government shutdown and Barack Obama's refusal to negotiate, the federal Amber Alert website is no more. Over the weekend, all online traffic attempting reach AmberAlert.gov was redirected to the OJP/DOJ's "lack of funds" closure graphic. In what can only be seen as a new low for the administration, they're now leveraging missing children against the evil, nasty, Republicans who want to delay Obamacare for a year.

It's bad enough that the White House is callously ordering the National Parks to toy with veterans who want to visit their memorials, but for the feds to shutter the Amber Alert site to "teach people a lesson" is truly sick.  In case you're concerned that this will affect all federal websites, fear not.  The really important stuff - things like Michelle Obama's nutrition and exercise website Let'sMove.gov - are still up and running.
So, worried parents won't be able to look at the Amber Alert site, but so what? Thanks to the Obama administration they'll have no trouble learning that October 11th is "Farm to school salad bar day." That's just as important, right?
Funny, I thought we were supposed to enact gun control because the President thought "if we can save just one child" it was worth doing. I guess saving children only matters when it furthers an extant anti-2nd Amendment agenda.
